Meditation. How do I want to learn meditation?

I m 19 years old. I Pranayama daily. I want to learn meditation. Plz help.

It depends on what type of meditation that want to learn. I liked the focus Tibetan / Western Buddhist hybrid (see the wisdom of No Escape by Pema Chodron, or Myth of Freedom and the Way of Meditation by Chogyam Trungpa). If you like this approach, you can find a convenient location to one on one instruction. Here is a link: If you like the approach http://www.shambhala.org/centers/ Zen (see Mind Zen, beginner's mind by Shunryu Suzuki), you can try a Google search at the center of Zen local. You can also contact an important zen (who do not mind helping, is your practice, after all!) And ask for a referral. Here is a link to a wonderful retreat center with people to help: If you like the approach http://www.smzc.net/pages/home.html Theravadin / Thai Vipassanna (see a road with Jack Kornfield heart), you can try calling your center in San Francisco for a referral to a local teacher where you are. Here is that link: If you http://www.spiritrock.org/ in Europe, and the focus of Tibet is not called, thic Nhat Hanh has a call center Plum Village, about Buddhism together. (See Peace is every step by thic Nhat Hanh.) You can contact for more information: http://www.plumvillage.org/ Namaste.

Where I can learn to meditate for free? The websites that offer free guided meditation?

I am very depressed right now, I need something positive to encourage and help me remain compassionate. I want to learn to meditate, I checked with the center of Buda, learning today and cost $ 60 for log in! I did not pay, of course, want to see if an alternative. Anyone know of any good websites that offer free meditation?

Well, I felt the same and had a race to the library and went to a couple of books that have tons of invaluable assistance. Also, you might want to watch youtube and see if they have a nice little yoga or videos of meditation practice with. good luck and peace be with you! (:

Techniques of meditation?

So I thought a couple of times, but I find it hard to be able to focus and clarify my mind. I do breathing slow mattresses, in the work of candlelight, etc, and sometimes does. Is there any specific practices that can help me learn to meditate better?

Dear Lauren, Meditation takes practice like anything else you want to be good. I'm putting below some websites that may be helpful. Different practices work best for different people. You will find that works best for you and then practice regularly. I promise, you get good at it. Take care

Is there a way to learn to meditate w / o taking a class ….?

I have reviewed the two closest schools in the community. You have a yoga class incorporating meditation class, but do not know how. And the other has a gym where you can practice yoga, but classes do not. I not only want but need a strong mind. I want more attention and the ability to not think about the stupid shit that gets on my nerves. Do not say "join the Marines," because that was my only wish in life since I was in seventh grade (13 years). I say this because I'm taking medication for anxiety disorder and Marine neither the Army nor the Navy or Coast Guard to admit that unless you have been off medication for a certain period of time. There were other reasons I wanted join the Corps, not only to strengthen the mind and body, but I can not be outside of these medicines for more than two days w / o ill shit going on. I that meditation is the key. What do I have to do?

Close ur eyes, take a breath and just concentrate on your breathing.

I would like to meditate or practice some form of yoga?

Sounds like something I would do, however, there are many types of meditation and so many reasons, it is difficult to know how to begin. Is there some form of yoga or meditation that I can learn on my own? I am unable to attend a class on her at this point, and if even I know, I do not think there are close to many to do it. I would also like to know some of the effects and benefits of yoga and meditation please? Also, I read Wikipedia articles and before coming here. I found this to be a bit general / vague. I should also mention that I'm not really doing this for health reasons (why I put it in alternative medicine, taking into account not know) is intended to be part of my search of the supernatural / paranormal.

The http://dharma.ncf.ca/introduction/instructions/sati.html first site is great, but the website below, it is excellent, offering the whole book [not only Chapter 13], FREE: A Practical Guide – Manuel of mindfulness meditation. That is pretty good: Attention http://www.vipassana.com/meditation/mindfulness_in_plain_english.php Meditation is the most excellent way of meditation a person can learn. There are many, many benefits of daily practice of mindfulness meditation. We recommend reading this book, practicing daily meditation attention as an important part of your life. You never go back with some regret, every day and continue with mindfulness meditation, and walking with attention moment to moment in daily life.

I want to learn relaxation and meditation, where I can start?

I have the basics, there is a good book to help you learn to relax and or meditate? I want to learn. I need to start, obviously, with the basics. Is there anything you can tell me? Are you practicing the relaxation / meditation? I have practiced guided imagery. I like it. I appreciate your answers in advance:) Thanks:)

Hi … A friend of mine has a free booklet (not the whole site is commercial – all free) on how to do an exercise to relieve stress and also has a support group for questions and answers yahoogroups. He has about 50 years the practice of meditation and therefore is a great resource for anyone. I put in the source field below the link to the free publication. Betsy
